I am posting this to provide a forum for discussing Iran tonight. I don't see too many diaries this evening, and the one on th rec list is getting filled up.
The demonstrations continued today. Ahmadinejad released a video in which he backed away from some of his harsh statements about the demonstrators. He had called them dust and driftwood before, but now he said that he merely meant to refer to the people who actually destroyed property.
The whereabouts of Ahmadinejad are still a puzzle. He was last seen at the summit in Russia. He reportedly returned to Iran Tuesday night, but he has not made a public appearance.
